Hi all,
When I came across the uncharted waters collection from Kaisercraft, the papers, the collectables, the sticker pad, it was like it was made for ME.
My first layout started out as a pretty simple layout with a large stripe of the anchor paper across the middle and a layer of stripped paper top and bottom of that. I distressed the edges before gluing down. I then cut the rope strips and added on top. I choose a portrait style photo and kept it 4x6.
I used a the rule of threes to make 3 clusters of embellishments and layered some with fun foam. I grounded each cluster by making sure each piece was touching something
My second layout I "case'd" (copy and stole everything) from a friend. I used 2 large banner pieces and 2 big squares for the base. I drew around the edges in black pen before gluing down and added embellishments. You may notice the word discover is spelt wrong. No big deal.
It was a this point I ran out and brought a few extras from the collection that I didn't get the first time. Now the fun starts...mixed media...
Oh how I love some texture. I choose the sandy brownish page for my base and spread some brown ink through a crackle stencil and randomly added blue nuvo mousse through a wave stencil. I layered, distressed and inked with the same brown ink ad before the edges of my patterned papers and glued down. I added the embellishment clusters before working on my title.
For the title I used wood veneer letters and covered with dark blue textured paint and glued down.
On a roll now I began my next layout with the same two stencils and novo mousse and used blue ink instead of brown on a white textured cardstock base. Once again distressing edges of the papers I choose for the base and clustered embellishments. Finally I added some craft stoned around the page.
I continued to use most of the same techniques for the following pages. The row boat I made using a die cut from my stash and my big shot die cutting machine.
This next layout I wanted to use up as many of the stickers and collectable ephemera as I could so I focused a lot on embellishments. To my surprise and delight I still had enough for two more layouts.
Again using whatever I could on the page this layout is probably my favourite. I just love the whole composition.
Finally I finish with this layout...at least for now anyway. I still have quite a bit left for further layouts.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this collection and highly recommend it for any type of beach layout. It is by far one of my favourites. I really hope you can get your hands on it and start creating.
