Eat the cake layout created for Twitchit Craft Kits

Hi all,
Please see below for the step by step instructions for the Eat the cake layout I created for Twitchit Craft Kits using the Home Again Garden kit 2. Enjoy.

This layout suits two photos measuring 4x3 inches and a smaller one 3.5x2.5 inches.

This layout uses a digital cut file and an electronic cutting machine. I use the silhouette Cameo 3.
You can find the cutfile called Vintage food mixer papercut from Silhouette Design Studio at: https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/designs?search=cake+mixer+vintage&sortby=relevance&submitted_search=true

Step 1.
Download and cut the vintage mixer on white textured cardstock and back with Lt. Blue/Navy CBHOA109018. I used both sides for added interest. For the bowl I used vellum to create the look of a glass bowl with the Cannisters CBHOA109007 behind the vellum.

Step 2.
Use Magnolias CBHOA109005 as the base for the layout and the border stripe from the elements sticker sheet to create a bottom border to ground the page.

Step 3.
Adhere the mixer cutfile with dimensional foam tape to raise off the background.

Step 4.
Cut your photo to size. Layer the larger one with tags from the Frames and Tags pack. Adhere them in place and add two of the leaves from the paper die cuts pack and a tag from the Frames and Tags pack.
Step 5.
Add embellishment cluster to the right of the cutfile. I used pieces from the Element sticker sheet, the chipboard accents, the die cuts pack and I hand cut a flower from the magnolias CBHOA109005.

Step 6.
Add your title down the right side of the cutfile. I used small white foam alpha stickers from my stash.

Home Again Garden layout for Twitchit Craft Kits

Hi all,

Below are the step by step instructions for my "Garden" layout created using the Home Again kit 2 from Twitchit Craft Kits. Hope you enjoy xx

Step 1.
For the base page i used Flower trucks CBHOA109013.
Cut a large circle from Vases CBHOA109010. You can trace around a circle object such as a bowl or plate and cut by hand. Adhere to base page.

Step 2.
Fussy cut the flower cart from Vases CBHOA109010 and the flowers from Magnolias CBHOA109005.

Adhere the flower cart using some dimensional foam tape to 'lift off the page.

Step 3.
Layer the leaves from the die cuts pack around the circle, tucking some underneath to create the wreath.

Next layer the magnolias around the wreath. Place some underneath the wreath, some flat and some using dimensional foam tape to create your desired layered look.

Step 4.
Back your chosen photo using the It. Blue/navy CBHOA109018 and distress the edges. Adhere slightly underneath the flower cart with dimensional foam tape.

Step 5.
Embellish as desired. I used pieces from the from the chipboard accents, the element stickers sheet and a couple more leaves from the paper die cuts pack.

Step 6.
Add your title. I used "Garden" from the mystery pack.

Home Again Family layout for Twitchit Craft Kits

Hi all,

See below the step by step instructions for how I created this layout for Twitchit Craft Kits. Enjoy.

This layout would suite one 4x6 inches photo or two photos 3x4 inches. You could also swap out the chipboard car for a third smaller photo if desired.

Step 1.
For the base I used a full 12x12 tan cardstock #CBHOA109017.

Step 2.
To this I cut the magnolias B side woodgrain paper at 2 inches from the top on the right and diagonal to 3 inches down on the left.

For the bottom piece I cut, measuring from the diagonal line, 1 inch down on the right and 2 inches down on the left. This should cut a straight line.

Step 3.
I repeated Step 2 with the vases paper CBHOA10901, however I changed the measurements to; 3.5 inches from the left top and 2.5 inches down on the right side.

The bottom piece I measured from the diagonial line 1.5 from the top left and 2.5 from the top right.

I roughed up all the edges using a distressing tool before adhering down.

Step 4.
To add layers behind the photo I cut apart the journalling cards CBHOA109009. I chose three frames and distress the edges. I included the burlap piece in between  the layers and frayed the edges slightly.

Step 5. Embellishment clusters.
The first embellishment cluster I layered to the right hand side of the photo using the wordboard "This is us..." from the chipboard accents, a flower pot from the element stickers sheet, 2 leaves from the paper die cuts pack and the die cut car from the frames and tags pack.

The second cluster down the bottom right of the page included the scalloped frame and tag from the frames and tags pack, 2 leaves from the paper die cuts pack and topped off with the car from the chipboard accents.

The third and final cluster is placed at the top left of the photo and incorporates the title "family" which is from the mystery pack. Another two pieces from the chipboard accents and two more leaves from the paper die cuts pack.

This then finishes the layout.

Home Again Gather kit from Twitchit Craft Kits

Hi guys,

Thanks for stopping by. Today I am very excited to be designing for Twitchit Craft Kits using the Carta Bella Home Again Gather Kit. Hugh shout out to Tabatha for inviting me.

Before we begin let me just say I absolutely loved creating with this kit. I found the papers and products to be really high quality and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I have created five layouts so far and have included step by step instructions for each layout on a separate blog for each. You can check these out on my blog.

The first piece to catch my eye was the chipboard car and I knew I had to get that on my first layout.
I chose a photo of my family to coincide with the title "family" from the mystery pack. The car represents our travel and this photo represents our move interstate, new beginnings and a fresh start. This layout is a reminder to me that wherever we are we are always family.

Throughout the collection there is a homely, cooking, kitchen feel and I wanted to showcase a time when my eldest daughter was baking with my youngest son. Good quality time.
I knew I wanted to use a cutfile of a cake mixer for the background and hunted for one...or two...in silhouette design studio. I love how this layout came together and resembles a family kitchen.
This third layout was creating using the other cake mixer cutfile I found at Silhouette Design Studio and just had to use. Paired with the title "Life's too short, eat the cake" I used two photos of my youngest licking the spatula.

My fourth layout I titled "garden" with a photo of one of our flowers and a humble bee from the back yard.
I wanted to use the leaves from the paper die cuts pack to create a wreath layout. I fussy cut the magnifies and added foam tape to give some dimension. The flower cart balances the page nicely.

Once again thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

Dreamer collection from Mintay

Hi guys thanks for stopping by;

WOW!!! Just wow!!! Have you seen the Dreamer collection from Mintay. It's simply beautiful. I recently got my hands on it and created these four layouts.

I began with fussy cutting all the embellishments, not gunna lie this took a while but was well worth the effort. To create dimension I used some sticky back adhesive foam between the layers and as always I roughed up the edges with a distress tool.

On this first layout I began by adding some white texture paste through a floral stencil over the background. I created the large photo cluster with lots of layers and dimension and added a smaller cluster to the bottom right corner to balance.  I painted the chipboard birds with black gesso before smudging with alchemy wax. The alpha letters were from my stash.
The background page on this next layout was from my stash. I wanted a woodgrain background with purple texture paste to bring out the purple hues in the collection. I flipped the layout from my first one and offset a smaller cluster in the top left corner for balance.
For this third layout I used some white textured cardstock as my base which I stamped and heat embossed using a text stamp and purple embossing powder. Though most of this got covered over with the embellishments. The title alphas are also from my stash.
For my final layout I again used a base white textured cardstock. I added some wood veneer elements from my stash, which I heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I have throughly enjoyed working with this gorgeous collection and still have much of it left for more creations.

Once again thank you for stopping by and happy crafting everyone.
